The site was down because of some maintenance that my web host did over the weekend. Everything should be back up now.
Not that anyone would have noticed though.

Some days are easier than others to write on here. Some days the news
just seems to jump out. Other days it’s pretty boring. I’m trying to
get a post a day up on here, but it’s difficult. I could rail about gas
prices, immigration, war on terror, all those things. I tend to think
that it is covered better in blogs other than mine, by bloggers who
have more time than I do.
On the other hand, I will have a couple of announcements to make in the
pretty near future of a couple projects we’re trying to get off the
ground. I’ll post them here when we start. In the meantime, you can
visit SkyProphet to see my business site. I still need to add some more
content to it, but I think it looks pretty good right now. Let me know
what you think!

I get my internet connection at home back up on Wednesday, then on
Thursday my web host goes down for some reason, so no updates. Crazy
stuff.
In other news, I’m starting on my secretive project. I’m using a program called FreeMind
to map out the design and it really works well. A guy at work showed it
to me. It’s simple to use, but it’s not just for software design. I’ve
also used it for figuring out which classes I would need to take if I
pursue my master’s degree. I’m working on a new map now that will show
goals and plans. Pretty cool program.
To continue my rambling, my wife bought me a new whiteboard for the
house last weekend. Not just any whiteboard though, this thing is eight
feet by four feet. It’s really just wall paneling, but it works great
as a whiteboard. Then better thing is that it’s only about $15, instead
of $50-60 for a comparable size true whiteboard. We drilled it into the
wall in my office and it works great.
Finally, my bracket is currently ranked 171,387th
in the country on ESPN’s Tourney Challenge. I was ranked 1st for the
first two or three days, which is longer than usual. I had all my Final
Four teams until last night when Gonzaga lost. However, I’m tied for
second in a KSU fan group.
I’m curious to know who the 1st place entry is in the group, because
the name on it is the same name as my high school
football coach. Could be funny it it was really him.
UPDATE: It really was him. I sent an email to the user account and he
replied back this morning. His son is a little farther down the list
too. Amazing how small the internet makes the world sometimes. Always
good to hear from someone in my hometown too.

Nothing like a good disappointment to really jump start your weekend. A
project I’ve been wanting to start but just haven’t had the time to do
seems to have been stillborn. Another company has jumped in to the area
I was going to try and create interest in and will have first-to-market
advantage. This leaves me with one of two choices:
- Give up and spend my time doing something else, though I really don’t know what it might be.
- Continue with the project and try to have a better product,
though people will have already spent their money on the competing
product in the original area.
This making sense to everyone? I don’t care, it makes sense to me. I’m
not sure what to do currently. I’ll pray about it and see where it
leads me. It’s really kind of a crushing defeat because I thought that
this would be an excellent area to start out in. Oh well, guess it’s
time to reconcentrate somewhere else.

I’m sure some people are wondering why the title of this blog is
Prophetic Musings. I muse, but am not particularly prophetic. Here is
my explanation.
I’ve always been fascinated with Biblical prophecy. It’s interesting to
me how God gifted some people in history with the ability to see what
was going to happen. Revelation is one of the wild reads in all of
history, not just the Bible. Nearly all it contains is prophecy of the
end times. It’s also one of the more controversial books too. The
prophets were also some of the most dedicated people of God on this
planet. They questioned God and received answers straight from the
source. I admire the prophets to a point that I’ve named my network and
all my computers after different prophets in the Bible. My business is
named SkyProphet as well, but that’s another conversation.
Now, do I consider myself a prophet? Absolutely NOT. I no more have the
hot line to God than anyone else. I just think that using the word
“Prophetic” in the title gives it a certain mystery, and it betrays my
own Christian feelings so that people who might stumble on to this site
aren’t going to be mislead by what I say.
So, there you have it. If you want any more explanation, you’ll have to either leave a comment or send me an email.
