About Me
What is Mezzamorphis? First, it’s the title of a 1999 album by the band Delirious?. It’s a mashup of the words metamorphosis and mezzanine.
Mezzanine: a low story between two other stories of greater height in a building
Metamorphosis: any complete change in appearance, character, circumstances, etc.
As Christians here on earth, we are between floors. We are in the world, but we are called to no longer be tied to it. We’re not part of this world any longer, but we haven’t quite reached heaven just yet. How do we accomplish that change?
Through prayer and studying of Scripture, we are transformed (sometimes slowly, sometimes quickly) into new creations. We morph from the old man into a new man.
So, what does that have to do with me? This site is my outlet to say what I want to say. I’m on this metamorphic journey between floors, just like the rest of you. I like to comment about what is going on around us, and this is where I’ll be doing it. I’m not a trained theologian, so it’s possible that sometimes I’ll be wrong. Point it out to me and I’ll be open to changing it.
Personally, I’m a husband of 14 years and a father of four wonderful kids. My day job is as a software developer for a small company in North Texas, where I’ve been for the past six years. I’ve worked in information technology in some form since 1998. I have a BS in Business Information Technology from Rogers State University and an MS in Management Information Systems from Tarleton State University. I was accepted into and started the PhD program in Business Computer Information Systems at the University of North Texas, but my heart really wasn’t in it. Currently, I am working on an MA in Theological Studies from Liberty University. After that I might continue on for a Masters of Divinity, but I would love to have some free time to spend with my family.
My interests are varied, but the topics I find most enjoyable are music, meteorology, theology, government, and sometimes computers. I’m open to hearing what anyone has to say, but be civil. I try to be, though probably don’t always succeed.
