Just saw this on TheForce.net. (Yes, I'm a Star Wars geek. Didn't you already know that?)
The STAR WARS DVD set, that will be released at the 30th anniversary, will be responsible for an increased sale of the new sets. There will be a anniversary logo on all LEGO Star Wars sets.
The context of the article is about new LEGO sets, and to me relatively uninteresting outside of this one line.
I have the following Star Wars movies at home
- Original Trilogy THX release from 1995 on VHS
- Original Trilogy Special Edition release from 1997 on VHS
- Episode I VHS and DVD
- Episode II DVD
- Episode III DVD
- Original Trilogy DVD Box Set from 2004
And that's all I'm buying. Lucasfilm just released individual copies of the original trilogy without all the Special Edition stuff in them, but I'm not buying them. Why? Either I'm not that much of a fan, I'm broke, or I'm tired of giving Lucas money for the same old thing.
I love Star Wars. My kids are growing up loving it. But until you've got something new for me, I'm not buying any more of the movies. Especially not retreads of the existing ones.
