A great rant by a great author

As many of you know, JK Rowling is the author of the Harry Potter book
series. She is also a mother of three, two girls and a boy. She posted
this rant
on her website about how stupid society’s obsession with ‘thin’ is, and
I have to agree with her. Although, I would like to point out that it
is probably worse here in the US than it is in the UK. Watching British
television, you will notice more characters who are overweight, but
their weight isn’t made into a big deal. Collette and I love “The Vicar of Dibley”
and the main character is quite overweight. The only person
who makes anything of it is her. It seems that Britons are more
accepting of weight as part of who the person is, not such a big deal.
Of course, people who actually live there may disagree.
